Bet that Senate Democrats never allow a floor vote on the Protect Kids Act, which passed the House last week \u2014 because they don\u2019t dare go on the record about opposing parents\u2019 rights against the \u201ctrans the kids\u201d cult.
\n\n\n\nThe bill simply requires schools to get an explicit parental OK before socially transitioning children, or lose federal funds.
\n\n\n\nEight House Democrats, including Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-Wash.), dared vote \u201cyea,\u201d and no doubt a Dem senator or three would as well \u2014 but Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) will use the filibuster to ensure they never get a chance as he shields other Dems from the burden of voting against parental rights.
\n\n\n\nThat the practice of social transition ever took root at all in schools is horrifying: It includes teachers and administrators changing a child\u2019s pronouns, permitting them to dress as the opposite gender, and the like.
\n\n\n\nThis approach does real psychological damage, especially when done in elementary school, when kids\u2019 claims about gender identity should be taken as seriously as their claims of being princesses or superheroes.
\n\n\n\nIt\u2019s outrageous that schools hide these transitions from families \u2014 and worse that the secrecy is often ordered by legislatures, as in California and New York.
\n\n\n\n\n\nThe rationale: If evil, bigoted parents know their 6-year-old son is wearing a dress and claiming to be a girl, they might harm the kid.
\n\n\n\nThis perversely treats all parents as likely abusers, as well as excluding the likely reality that \u201caffirming the identity\u201d is bad for the child.
\n\n\n\n\n\nNeither schools nor states should be in the business of imposing woke nostrums, let alone behind parents\u2019 backs.\u00a0
\n\n\n\nThe social-transition craze was always political, a bid to co-opt the classroom into rank indoctrination.
\n\n\n\n\n\nParents\u2019 furious effort to end this madness brought lawsuits across the country; in Mirabelli v. Bonta, the Supreme Court recently found that California cannot order schools to lie to parents about their kids\u2019 mental health. The Protect Kids Act is simply an effort to ensure that principle is upheld nationwide.
\n\n\n\nMost of the nation has rejected \u201cgender madness,\u201d but it still rules the Democratic Party \u2014 so Schumer and other national Democrats are left doing their best to again hide their own extremism.
