Girl Can't Stop Clinging To Dad For First Time In Two Years After He Became Sober

A 10-year-old girl couldn’t stop crying with joy and hanging from her father's waist when he surprised her for their first hug in two years after battling addiction and getting sober. In the emotional video, Daisy Adams, 10, is seen clinging to her father Gerry, 38, as her dad beams with joy during their long-anticipated reunion. The moment took place outside a courthouse in California, where, for the past two years, Gerry has been working to get sober. The 38-year-old has struggled with alcohol and drug addiction for many years, Cindy said, and as a result, said she was required to seek custody of their three children. There was a stipulation, Cindy added, that if Gerry completed six months of treatment and rehab, he would be able to reunite with the kids. When he was able to show proof of this treatment, on December 23, 2022, he and Cindy then worked together to plan a surprise for Daisy and her siblings. The following day, with Cindy recording on her cellphone, Gerry exited a car, and his three kids immediately recognized the figure coming towards them. Daisy had the most excitable reaction of all, as she is older, Cindy said, and has therefore felt the absence of her father much more.
