A loving boyfriend decided to move his romantic proposal forward as a pick-me-up for his exhausted girlfriend, who has been battling coronavirus on the frontlines as a nurse. Madison Cohen, 30, is a registered nurse on the COVID-19 unit at Broward Health Coral Springs, in Coral Springs, Florida, and over time the fight against the virus was beginning to get her down. On the unit, Madison said she witnessed doctors struggling to deal with the pandemic – developments that meant she was required to work overtime, extra overnight hours, and also train new nurses at the same time. That was when her boyfriend, Adjani Williams, 32, decided he wanted to do something extra special to give Madison a reason to smile. The couple have been together nearly four years, and initially Adjani was planning to propose around a family wedding in Maryland later this year. But with that event postponed until further notice, Adjani decided to come up with a Plan B. After a family meal at their home in Cooper City, Florida, Madison entered the kitchen – and when she turned around, she was met with Adjani down on one knee. The shocked nurse had no idea the surprise was coming, and with tears in her eyes, Madison joyously accepted her engagement ring. The moment took place on March 22 – the day before Madison’s birthday – with Madison’s friend sharing the footage on social media weeks later.
