Google Maps Will Now Show You Every Wildfire

Google has announced that it will be adding a new “fire” layer to Google Maps to help users view current wildfires. The new feature will allow users to view the exact boundaries of a fire just as easily as they view traffic patterns in the app. It will also allow users to view updates from local governments as well as emergency phone numbers and websites. Maps will also provide users with evacuation details for each fire. The feature is one of several that Google plans to roll out to help people better understand the impact of global warming. The fire layout will roll out to Android and iOS device users in the US first before rolling out to more countries later this year.
