A beloved mom freezes in shock on her wedding day as she’s surprised at the altar by her military son who she hasn’t seen in more than three years. As the officiating minister asked, “Who here gives this woman’s hand in marriage,” a familiar voice shouting “I do” is heard from afar by bride Colice Parris. Then, out of the crowd, her son, Raphael Holder, 23, emerges and walks toward his mom who is left absolutely speechless. Raphael serves with the U.S. Army and is currently based in Fort Drum, New York. Colice, meanwhile, lives in their native Guyana, where she married her now-husband, Rolf Baird, 46, on January 10 2021. The last time Raphael and Colice, 45, were together was during Raphael's passing out ceremony, at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, in November 2017. Since then, Raphael has been based in the U.S. which meant being separated from his mother - a sacrifice Raphael made for his country. But ahead of her wedding, Raphael wanted to do something special for his mother, and so he was granted time to head to Guyana. To help keep the surprise from Colice, Raphael also spoke to her the night before the big day, pretending he was devastated he could still not see his mother. During the surprise itself, Colice said there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
