A flash mob singer received a huge shock during a recent performance - as it turned out the person the group were surprising was actually him as his mom who he hadn’t seen in more than two years arrived. Soulful Bongi Lolwana stood alongside his fellow singers at Belfast Airport, believing their rendition of “Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher” was to welcome a golfer for this year’s Open Championship. But when the doors in front of the group swung open, out walked Bongi’s mum, Cynthia, 56, who lives in a township called White Location, in their native South Africa. Bongi, a member of Belfast Community Gospel Choir, had not seen his mother in two-and-a-half years - and it turned out his wife, Claire, had been arranging the surprise for more than six months, helping Cynthia obtain her visa. The singer covered his face in shock before embracing his mother and the tears began to flow.
