A 15-year-old girl with spina bifida fulfilled her dream of standing and dancing with her father for the very first time at her quinceanera. Yanira Guzman Rivera, 15, had been seated in her previous wheelchair her entire life, but thanks to her new vehicle she was able to rise for the occasion - something she had always wanted. In the heart-warming footage, Yanira can be seen moving around the dance floor with her father, Pedro Guzman Rodriguez, 43, as her family and friends cheered the teenager’s achievements at her Beauty and the Beast-themed event. Yanira, from Interlachen, Florida, then danced with other members of her family, much to the delight of her mother, Jeannie Del Valle, who knew the struggles the family had been through to get to this point. According to Jeannie, 50, her daughter had attended the quinceaneras of others and had always wished that, one day, she would be able to stand and replicate their dances with their fathers. In the build-up to the teen’s big day, however, Yanira only had a standard electric chair, which has had used for the previous 12 years and meant she was only seated. Around four weeks before the big day, though, her family received news their insurance would cover the cost of her new chair - a Permobil F5 Corpus VS - which allows Yanira to stand and reach like an adult.
