A Spirit Airlines flight from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in Texas to Orlando International Airport in Florida was diverted to Jacksonville Wednesday after a battery pack caught fire in an overhead compartment. The flight made an emergency landing at Jacksonville International Airport at around 2 p.m. on Wednesday after crew members reported the fire. According to the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department, crew members were able to quickly extinguish the burning item in a bucket of water in flight. A video shared by Twitter user @nottajshow shows JFRD firefighters on board the aircraft checking the overhead bins where the item had been, and appearing to take photos or video.
