Grandma Surprised With Teddy Bear Made From Late Husband's Shirt

A beloved grandma fought back joyous tears when her granddaughter surprised her with a teddy bear made from her late husband's shirt. Raquel Garcia, 85, lost her husband, Apolinar Garcia, 69, in December 2007 when he passed away in Michoacan, Mexico. After Apolinar's passing, Raquel moved to the United States to be close to her family, who have offered to support her as she faces growing health concerns. Her granddaughter said that Raquel has not been able to return to Mexico due to these health issues. When her family recently returned to her hometown, they came across several of Raquel and Apolinar's belongings. One item was a shirt that belonged to Apolinar, which Raquel's granddaughter, Yuli, 25, kept, having had the idea of turning it into a gift for her grandma. Yuli had someone turn the shirt into a comforting teddy bear, which she brought to a family reunion in Phoenix, Arizona, on March 8. With Raquel surrounded by her grandchildren and children, Yuli presented the bear to her grandmother while Yuli's cousin, Araceli, captured the moment on video.
