Molly Dominguez, 93, from La Puente, California, is the "heart and soul" of her entire family, relatives said. She has four kids, 21 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Ahead of her big day, one of her younger sons wanted to plan a big surprise for her, so he suggested hiring a mariachi band. Humble Molly was told she was going out for a family brunch on November 12, but having been guided into her house, she waited while the band snuck into her backyard. Then, as she walked into the garden, Molly was greeted with the sounds of music and many relatives. As soon as she saw the band, tears filled the 93-year-old’s eyes—a reaction that her grandson, Robert Dominguez, 44, said held extra significance. Robert – who sees Molly more like a mother, having lived with her while he was in high school – said that his grandma's sweet reaction was tied to her late brother, who passed away from cancer earlier in the year. When she first looked at the band, Molly said she instantly thought about how her sibling was not there to celebrate with her. Over the following hours, though, Molly and her family enjoyed the music, and the 93rd did her best to hit a piñata.
