A boy who had moved to a new town just before the lockdowns hit struck up an adorable friendship with his neighborhood garbageman. Four-year-old Graysen had recently moved to Florida with his family when the shutdowns occurred, meaning he didn’t get a chance to start school and make new friends. Stuck in a new place without friends, and with his father away on military training, he began going out to meet the twice weekly garbage collection team as they passed through his neighborhood, honking their horn. And soon enough he struck up a friendship with driver Sean Dailey – including racing him on his bicycle. Adorable videos, captured by Graysen’s mom Amanda Beckman, show Sean honking his horn as he enters the neighborhood with Graysen running out to greet him. Another clip shows Graysen on his bicycle racing Sean up the road, which after Amanda shared it online struck a chord with people around the world about how great city workers are in these trying times. The unlikely friendship has been both ways – with Sean enjoying their twice weekly encounters as much as Graysen.
