A viral video has captured the moment a dog owner spoke Spanish commands to her pooch she rescued from Mexico – and he immediately remembered and acted on the prompts. Heather Clark, 25, from Los Angeles, California, adopted her dog, Kai, after he had lived a tough life in Guadalajara, Mexico. According to Heather, after Kai's previous owner had passed away, his family left him out on the street and he was hit by a car, requiring femoral head ostectomy (FHO) surgery to help him continue to walk. After Kai was brought to The Barking Lot Rescue, near San Diego, Heather came across the mix-breed pooch and decided she had to give him a loving home. Then, during a visit to a vet, Heather heard the veterinary technician speaking Spanish, and she thought Kai could understand. And so, one day while in her office, Heather took out her phone, opened Google for Spanish phrases, and decided to record Kai's reaction. Sure enough, on July 12, Kai responded to the likes of "come here," "sit" and "give me your paw," much to Heather's amazement. Having shared the video moment on social media, the post of Kai's wholesome reaction went viral.
