A group of whale watchers had a lucky escape - after a whale breached and landed on the tip of their boat. The giant sea mammal came so close to crushing their sailing boat it scraped barnacles off its belly, which were left scattered across the deck. And the almost deadly trip - which was caught on video by Elena Sera Jose - was likened to the famous tale of Moby Dick. After an initial close encounter, where the whale half breaches near the bow of the boat, showing its eye as it sizes up the vessel, Elena can be heard saying, “He’s out for vengeance.” But before long, the quiet waters are suddenly disturbed as the whale rises out, towering above the boat, before coming crashing down on the front - scraping off barnacles from its belly.
