A wildlife guide captured the amazing moment a protective mother bison chased a grizzly bear who got too close to her young. Guide Bo Weldon, 32, from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, filmed the encounter in Northern Yellowstone on May 29, 2023, before later sharing it on social media. Bo, who works with Jackson Hole Ecotour Adventures, heard a young bison had passed away close to a nearby river, and knowing that the likes of wolves would then appear, he decided to head to the location on one of his day trips. At the spot, though, around 45 minutes before sundown, a grizzly bear appeared out of a sage bush and began sniffing around a nearby herd of bison, looking to pick off one of the young. But the bear got a little too close for the mother bison's liking, Bo said, and soon the grizzly was being chased away by the charging bison. The guide managed to capture the amazing chase on video, which he later shared on his social media channels where it went viral.
