Single Mom Worked Two Jobs To Surprise Teen Daughter With Dream Car

A determined single mom worked two jobs for seven months so she could surprise her teen daughter with her dream first car. Karen Morman, from near Lafayette, Louisiana, has always shared a close relationship with daughter Rachel, but she knew she had to be realistic when Rachel talked about her dream car, a Chevy Camaro. Purchasing such a vehicle was not financially possible, said Karen, who in the years prior to the surprise had suffered personal heartbreak. Karen lost her mom to cancer at the age of 47, before her sister was then killed in a car accident at 23. Struggling with grief, Karen decided to put her energy into providing the best possible life for her daughter, and so she took a second job to help save for a car. After finishing her 40-hour-a-week job, Karen would clean apartments where tenants had moved out – both on weekdays and on weekends. Having purchased the vehicle from a local dealer while Rachel was in school, Karen returned home at the end of the day, where she found her daughter taking a nap. She encouraged Rachel to head outside, where her daughter froze in shock as she saw the Camaro at the end of her front yard, covering her mouth in disbelief. Rachel then broke down in tears as she headed over to the vehicle, before sharing an emotional hug with her inspiring mom.
