Boy With Cancer Surprised By Return Of Big Brother

A boy with cancer was surprised by his older brother as he returned home from being away for over a year. Ten-year-old Luke Thomas Fowles from Salem, Utah, was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma in November 2020. Rhabdo is a rare, aggressive cancer that attacks soft tissues and has caused a tumor to grow deep inside Luke’s face. He has had 52 weeks of chemotherapy and six weeks of radiation to try and fight the disease. But throughout this troubling time, Luke has had support from his whole family but has been missing his big brother David. In September 2020, the brothers had to say goodbye as David went off to Tucson, Arizona, on a church service mission. As David was so desperate to see how his little brother was doing he planned to surprise him with a reunion. A couple of days beforehand, David quarantined to make sure he was safe before traveling to the house for the surprise on October 4th. As David walked in towards the boys still with their eyes closed and grabbed their hands. The brothers leaped up to see their big brother and began to hug and cry with happiness.
