Stunning timelapse video has captured hundreds of hot air balloons taking off at dawn above one of the world’s most spectacular landscapes. Turkey’s Cappadocia region, best known for its otherworldly 'fairy chimney' rock formations, is one of the most popular spots on Earth for hot air ballooning. Its rocky wonderland was shaped millions of years ago by volcanic eruptions blanketing the area with thick ash and solidified into a soft rock. But erosion left only the harder elements behind to form the fairy tale landscape seen today, packed with cones and pillars stretching as far as 130ft into the sky. This timelapse was filmed in Göreme, Cappadocia, a World Heritage Site at 5am on May 1 2018 by Michal Vrabec from a small hill above the launch site.
