Avril Lavigne Is Turning 'Sk8r Boi' Into A Movie

Avril Lavigne has revealed that she plans on turning her 2002 hit song Sk8r Boi into a movie. Lavigne made the announcement during an interview on iHeartRadio’s She Is The Voice podcast. As the song’s 20th anniversary is coming up, the pop-punk singer said she’s been getting a lot of requests to perform it on tv shows. Lavigne said people are always referencing the song to her and because of this she wants to make a movie and “take it to the next level”. The song was inspired by the “different groups and cliques” in high school. It’s about how a “preppy girl” regrets not following her heart and being with the “skater boy” instead of trying to “live up to society’s expectations”. It’s unknown whether Lavigne is currently working with a production company on the project or not.
