Police Officer Surprises Teens By Skateboarding With Them

A group of teens were left stunned as a police officer rolled down his window - only to ask if he could borrow a skateboard. Officer Shawn Hagarty said that seeing group of teens reminded him how used to enjoy skating in the nice weather as a teen, and so he thought he would join in for a few minutes. In a moment captured on video on March 1, the officer skated down the street in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, while Kaylynn Bensaad, 15, and her friends watched on. Kaylynn, who filmed the moment, said she was initially skating with her friends Elijah, Jackson, Maddie and Skylar, and when the officer pulled up, she thought someone might have made a noise complaint. But, according to Kaylynn, Officer Hagarty rolled down his window and said, “Bet you can’t trick like me.” The officer then proceeded to attempt a kickflip - which Kaylynn said she was certain he could have pulled off were he not in his police attire and shoes - as well as a variation on a slide.
