Big eruption seen at 'edge of Sun,' possibly an x-flare!

NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory captured an M9.6-class flare on May 16, 2023. The sunspot it was generated from was on the farside of the sun as seen by the spacecraft. It is possible that it was a more powerful x-flare that is being "partially eclipsed by the edge of the sun," according to Spaceweather.com.
