A psychologist has revealed a simple hack to help you fall asleep quickly on a plane. Psychologist Erica Terblanche has called the technique "going over the alpha bridge" and says it can help you fall asleep "pretty much anywhere." Terblanche has outlined four simple steps to falling asleep, with most people being successful on their first attempt at this technique. Step One: begin by sitting or lying comfortably, then close your eyes and count to 30. Step two: open your eyes a "little sliver like a half-moon and count to 5." Step three: repeat the first step, close your eyes, and count to 30. Step four: open your eyes again to a "half-moon sliver and count to 5", then close them again. Terblanche notes that one should focus on breathing in through the nose and out again. Most people fall asleep after the first cycle, but if not, repeat it and its sure to work after another attempt or two.
