Woman Hides In A Box To Reunite With Her Dog

A dog couldn’t contain its excitement when discovering his owner hiding in a cardboard box had returned home after more than a year apart while she studied overseas. María José Escobar Pla, who goes by ‘Majo’, is extremely close to her German Shepherd, called Boston, after she got him in April 2020 a little over a year after her previous dog Jobby had to be put to sleep. Majo and her mom, María Isabel Pla, weren’t sure if they were ready for another dog, but when the pandemic hit and they discovered they’d be at home all the time, they knew the time had come. But in 2021, Majo, from Bogota, Colombia, was offered the opportunity to study abroad in Spain, and admitted it was a difficult decision to leave Boston and everyone behind. When she was finally able to return home more than a year later in December 2022, she decided she not only wanted to surprise her mom and siblings, but also Boston, too. She waited in a cardboard box in the middle of the room while Boston was let into the room and after some quick zoomies, he immediately became interested in the box. He excitedly sniffed around the base of the box, and as Majo lifted it over her hear to reveal she was inside, he lost it with excitement and couldn’t stop jumping on her.
