Explorer Descends Into 550ft Abandoned Mineshaft

Spine-tingling POV footage captures the moment a fearless explorer descends into a narrow 550ft pitch black abandoned mineshaft in Mexico which locals rumor cartels used to hide bodies. On January 8 2019, seasoned explorer Frank Schlichting led a five-person team in an effort to explore the mine near Rincón de Romos in Mexico. Frank, from Grand Forks in British Columbia, Canada, revealed how in 2018 a similar mine was discovered to have 22 bodies dumped inside. Team member Gabe Romo, from Minnesota, USA, was lowered down while suspended by a 600ft rope and guided by expert Chris Knutson, who rigged an intricate pulley system to secure Gabe on his treacherous journey underground. After the exhilarating descent, Gabe filmed his exploration as he traversed the creepy labyrinth of the abandoned mine, discovering a cluster of animal skeletons, old mining equipment turned to rust, and even a dynamite stick that he collected as a souvenir.
