This creative couple did not let their cancelled 300-person wedding party get them down, as they decided to have a virtual celebration in the their apartment – including a first dance in full wedding attire. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Kevin and Jenna Maloney had to cancel their large March 20 gathering, as events of up to 10 people were the limit at the time. But when Jenna, 29, went to collect her stunning wedding dress following after final fitting, the bride-to-be said she felt inspired to make the best of a bad situation, and so she started to plan how she could host the entire wedding party in the couple’s Somerset, New Jersey, apartment. The 29-year-old purchased fake flowers, lights, was able to request a last-minute cake – and even created a princess table. On the day of the wedding itself, the couple had a small ceremony at a local church – adhering to social distancing rules – and then headed back to their apartment afterwards. There, Jenna kept on her wedding dress and celebrated with Kevin, 30, on their balcony. After receiving cheers from passersby, the couple then headed inside, where friends gathered for a virtual best man’s speech, drank, and watched a video of the couple cutting their cake. Jenna and Kevin also recorded their first dance to “From The Ground Up” by Dan + Shay – Jenna still donning her wedding dress in the couple’s tiny living room.
