In a recent interview, Lizzo revealed that she has struggled to embrace her naturally curly hair. The singer said that growing up she was taught that “a certain hair texture and type was considered beautiful”. As the singer doesn’t have this hair type, it made her feel like she had to “hide” this part of herself. When Lizzo started to embrace her natural hair she found following other women with natural hair on social media very helpful. The Rumors singer said that embracing her hair allowed her to finally say that she truly loves herself. When it comes to taking care of her hair Lizzo prioritizes keeping it clean, hydrated and giving it plenty of breaks. I used to just kind of lock my hair away, and I realized that was [like] locking her up in a prison. You can't thrive when you're locked up like that, Lizzo.
