Quavo to grant $100K to gun violence prevention organizations

Quavo is launching a $100,000 gun prevention program in Atlanta, Georgia, that will fund 10 organizations that strive to reduce gun violence. The rapper and his Rocket Foundation have set up the SPARK Grants program, which will focus on gun violence in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. The non-profit recipients of the SPARK grant will collaborate with the Rocket Foundation on ways to help their community. "I am honored to launch this grant program to honor Take and the countless families that have been affected by gun violence," said Quavo in a statement. Organizations must apply by April 21, and “they must be a registered nonprofit” that is working on initiatives against gun violence. While 9 of the organizations will be decided by the Rocket Foundation, a tenth will be voted on by the public on The Rocket Foundation's website. All recipients of the grant will be announced on June 18, marking the birthday of Quavo’s nephew Takeoff, who was shot in 2022 in Houston, Texas.
