Welcome to Brooklyn's ‘greenest block’ - and its fight against climate crisis impacts

Lincoln Place looks a lot like other Brooklyn blocks: wide brownstone stoops, dog walkers and stroller-pushers, double-parked delivery trucks. But pause for a while and you’ll notice that the block, a stone’s throw from Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights, is an oasis of trees, plants and flowers. Welcome to the greenest block in Brooklyn, an accolade that Lincoln Place has now earned twice. The award was bestowed by the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, an annual contest that’s been running since the nineties to inspire more urban gardening.
