"Gina & Ashley ask Chef Jonathan Scinto to help prepare a traditional Sunday Sauce with a twist for Gina and Ashley’s closest friends family. Ashley has always said she was pretty lucky in the Mom department. That’s because her mother, Gina, was a true inspiration for her daughter. Gina’s husband was diagnosed with cancer and given only 6 months to live when she was 8 months pregnant with her now teenage daughter, Ashley. Ashley was born blind in one, requiring a prosthetic and Gina had to tend to a newborn and her husband’s medical condition which eventually left him paralyzed before passing after 11 years. Due to the financial burden, Gina & Ashley moved many times subjecting Ashley to bullying from other children that didn’t understand her condition."
