Neighbors recall harrowing rescue efforts following deadly fire in West Jordan

WEST JORDAN, Utah — A devastating house fire in a West Jordan neighborhood claimed the lives of three people, leaving a community in mourning and neighbors grappling with the trauma of what they witnessed. The fire broke out Friday morning at a home near 6430 West and Fall Oak Dr. Witnesses described hearing what sounded like an explosion before smoke and flames engulfed the residence. Among the first to respond was Robert Harlow, a neighbor who was returning home from a graveyard shift. “I saw the black smoke down the street—it was bad,” Harlow said. “Once I turned the corner and didn’t see any fire trucks there, I knew it was go time. The adrenaline kicked in.”
