Modhera, in the state of Gujrat, is India's first solar-powered village. It has 12 hectares of land covered in solar panels and rooftop panels on 1300 homes, providing enough energy for its 7000 residents. Modhera is also home to the Sun Temple, built by Hindu worshippers 1000 years ago.
