Human remains have been found inside a giant crocodile, suspected of killing a man who went missing while on vacation in Australia. David Hogbin, a 40-year-old tourist from New South Wales, disappeared after falling from a steep bank into the Annan River, Queensland, while fishing with his family. Wildlife rangers euthanized a 16-foot crocodile, believed to be responsible for the attack, after locating it in a nearby creek. The crocodile, which had distinctive scars matching witness descriptions, was found 2.5 miles upstream from where Hogbin vanished. The Department of Environment, Science and Innovation confirmed that the crocodile was euthanized humanely and handed over to police. This tragic incident marks the third fatal crocodile attack in Australia this year. Hogbin’s death follows that of a 12-year-old girl who was killed by a crocodile in the Northern Territory in July. Authorities are investigating reports of illegal crocodile feeding in the area, warning of the dangers of such reckless behavior. The crocodile population in Australia’s north has surged since they became a protected species in the 1970s.
