On January 24, 2011, Former President George W. Bush made an appearance on C-Span's Q&A program on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where his presidential library was being built. In response to one of the questions from an SMU student, he referenced three dangerous "isms" that come up together in history: isolationism, protectionism, and nativism.
