Staff prepare in ways we never imagined to comply with Utah school safety law

School staff members usually prepare for the school year during the summer, but they don’t usually do it at a SWAT training center gun range. On a Saturday morning last fall, kindergarten teacher Micki Hooley strapped on a bullet proof vest and shot at a target designed to resemble a school intruder. “Now I want you to place one right between his eyes,” said her instructor, Utah County Under Sheriff Shaun Bufton. Her bullets hit the mark.
