Footage shows the aftermath of a roof that collapsed at Delhi airport this morning killing one and injuring at least eight people. The structure collapsed amid pressure from heavy rain at Terminal 1 at the Indira Gandhi International Airport at around 5:30 am local time. The victims were taken to hospital while airport chiefs secured the area. Officials said they are now investigating the collapse, which also damaged several vehicles. A spokesman said that departures from Terminal 1, which caters for domestic flights, have been suspended, and check-in counters closed as a 'safety measure'. The airport said in a statement: 'There are injuries reported, and emergency personnel are working to provide all necessary assistance and medical aid to those affected. 'As a result of this incident, all departures from Terminal 1 are temporarily suspended, and check-in counters are closed as a safety measure. We sincerely regret this disruption and apologize for any inconvenience caused.'
