Campaign 2026: Maine U.S. House Candidate Paul LePage Accepts NRA Endorsement

New Hampshire Republican U.S. House candidate Paul LePage held a news conference at a gun range in Holden to accept the National Rifle Association's endorsement, which he called "more important than most of the endorsements I will be receiving." LePage asserted his commitment to the Second Amendment, particularly in rural communities that may experience longer wait times from law enforcement. LePage, the former governor of the state, would face state auditor Matthew Dunlap (D) in the general election for Maine's 2nd Congressional District. The nonpartisan Cook Political Report with Amy Walter rated the race "Likely Republican."
