Art is beyond what you hang on the wall. That’s why legendary auction company Christie’s is embracing technology and investing in digital art, holograms and more futuristic steps forward. In this episode, we sat down with Bonnie Brennan, President of Christie’s Americas, who says people are collecting differently in today’s world. From handbags-as-art to cryptocurrency, nothing is off limits for the 258-year-old auction house. “We’ve seen the NFT market go through some ups and downs, but the highest quality digital art still we see great demand,” Brennan says. Standouts in this realm include Beeple’s “Human One,” the first dynamically changing hybrid digital/physical work and Refik Anadol’s trippy installation at Rockefeller Center. Christie’s also gave The Post an insider look at technology of the past. Gen One, their exhibit of auction items from Microsoft’s late co-founder Paul Allen, includes a show-stopper: The Apple I computer that sat on Steve Jobs’ desk. #christies #art #technology
