Heart to Heart: John Erwin, MD

Many people didn't know that pet ownership can actually reduce your cardiovascular risk for #heartattack. It's actually been scientifically proven that dog ownership is good for your heart. Just petting a dog can reduce your stress and influences calming hormones for the body. Some dogs can actually help us to move more as well. Whitton and I try to take a walk at least 30 minutes every day which is especially heart healthy. It's great to own a pet but if you can't own a pet see about helping out with a friends or potentially volunteering at a shelter.
