Deputy Director of Public Health England Dr Susan Hopkins says the impact of Christmas social mixing is being seen in high Covid-19 infection rates across the country. Hopkins told BBC Breakfast that there were "more than 70,000 coronavirus infections reported on 29th December in England alone."
