Sydney Sweeney is calling Hollywood’s women empowerment movement a front and claims that women in the industry are not supporting each other. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the 'Anyone But You' actress said, "None of it’s happening. All of it is fake and a front for all the other s*** that they say behind everyone’s back". “It’s very disheartening to see women tear other women down, especially when women who are successful in other avenues of their industry see younger talent working really hard - hoping to achieve whatever dreams that they may have - and then trying to bash and discredit any work that they’ve done,” said Sweeney. Sweeney’s response came from a question that referenced claims made by Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence that women in Hollywood are attacked at the height of their careers. Sweeney experienced this when Hollywood producer Carol Baum criticized her, saying, “She’s not pretty, she can’t act. Why is she so hot?”. The 'Euphoria' actress continued, "We were raised — and it’s a generational problem — to believe only one woman can be at the top." The 27-year-old had a slate of box office appearances last year’, including 'Anyone But You,' 'Madame Web,' Immaculate,' and 'Eden.'
