No Change In Income Tax Slabs; Cess On Petrol, Diesel Hiked By Re 1/Ltr | Mathrubhumi News

Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2019, which aims at nation's economic growth, in the Parliament today. India will become a three trillion dollar economy this year itself. She proposed to increase Special Additional Excise duty and Road and Infrastructure cess by one rupee a litre on petrol and diesel. Custom duty on gold and other precious metals will be raised by 2.5 percent as well. Meanwhile she has not proposed any changes in the income tax slabs.
