Members of the New Democrat Coalition announced their health care action plan as Affordable Care Act tax credits were set to expire at the end of 2025. They explained the intentions of their plan, which included strengthening affordable health care by locking in ACA tax credits, reversing cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, and other measures. Vice Chair for Policy Nikki Budzinski (D-IL) said about health care policies, "In the richest country in the world, these shouldn't be privileges for a select few." Also, Coalition Chair Brad Schneider (D-IL), said his group would work with anyone to deliver results, saying, "We're moderates. 'Moderate' is a style, not a position. It's a way to get things done."
