Ohio governor candidate Vivek Ramaswamy (R) spoke at a college Republican rally at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He was introduced by mixed martial arts fighter Bo Nickal before speaking to students about economic development and affordability for young people in Ohio, conservative values, and his opponent Amy Acton (D). Nickal and Ramaswamy then took questions from students about a merit-based pay scale for teachers, firearm regulations, religion in schools, and who Nickal's favorite mixed martial arts fighter was. Ramaswamy would face Acton in the November 3, 2026 general election. Inside Elections and The Cook Political Report both rated this race a "Toss Up."
