The popular New York-born singer D4vd, shot to fame for his hit single “Romantic Homicide,” was charged with murder on April 20 after a monthslong investigation by LAPD. D4vd, real name David Burke, could face the death penalty after being charged with first-degree murder with special circumstances — lying in wait, murder of a witness to an investigation, and murder for financial gain — in the grisly killing of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas. He’s also charged with lewd and lascivious sexual acts with an individual under 14 years old, and mutilating the human remains of a body.
