Barn Fire in Tooele Sparks Community Response and Highlights New Fire Station’s Impact

TOOELE, Utah — What began as a quiet day in the South Rim community quickly turned tense as thick smoke and high winds fueled a fast-moving barn fire, prompting a swift response from local volunteer firefighters and neighbors. The fire broke out on Ruiz Drive on Friday, where a large barn was quickly engulfed in flames. Stockton Fire Chief Justin Huffman described the scene as intense, with flames reaching 20 to 30 feet high and threatening nearby structures. Firefighters said the call came in around 1 p.m. “Our main concern was the fire impinging on another structure,” Huffman said. “The barn was fully engulfed when we arrived.”
