The US Olympic and Paralympic Committee is taking Logan Paul and KSI’s energy drink Prime to court over trademark infringement allegations. The lawsuit mentions the committee has no agreement with the energy drink brand, contrary to what viewers might think after the release of their new advertisement. The ad features Olympic medalist and basketball power forward Kevin Durant alongside a series of exclusive Olympic symbols and phrases without permission from the committee. The lawsuit, filed in Colorado, US, also calls the advertisement and Olympic references in it ‘deliberate’ and ‘in bad faith’. A cease and desist letter has been issued to the energy drink brand over concerns of misleading advertising and factual misrepresentations. Prime has not taken down the advertisement so far and is yet to comment on the trademark infringement allegations.
