Taking A Nap In The Afternoon Might Boost Mental Agility

A new study has found that taking a nap in the afternoon might boost a person’s mental agility. Researchers in China found that an afternoon nap was associated with greater verbal fluency and working memory. The researchers collected data on more than 2,200 people over the age of 60. More than 1,500 of these people took regular afternoon naps that were no longer than two hours. Those who took naps scored higher in tests that judged their locational awareness and working memory. The researchers suggest that taking naps may help ease inflammation, which plays a role in sleep disorders and overall health. However, further studies are needed to confirm these preliminary findings
