Residents evacuate as crews struggle to contain fast-moving Bain Fire in Jurupa Valley

A fast-moving brush fire erupted in the Santa Ana River bottom May 19, torching at least 20 acres of dry vegetation as air tankers thundered overhead and firefighters raced to keep the blaze from exploding further. The so-called Bain Fire broke out around 11:22 a.m. near Bain Street and Limonite Avenue in Jurupa Valley, according to Cal Fire.
