Michigan Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed held a campaign event with Senators Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) in Ferndale. The lawmakers praised Mr. El-Sayed for his background in health care, and commitment on issues such as affordability and immigration. "We need a fighter," said Sen. Warren, "And Abdul El-Sayed is the fighter we need." Mr. El-Sayed criticized not only his opponent, Michigan Rep. Haley Stevens, but also Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), even introducing Sen. Van Hollen as the "next Senate majority leader."
