Mosquitoes Cause More Deaths Annually Than Any Other Animal

The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that mosquito-borne diseases pose a risk to billions of people, though they are preventable. The CDC has listed mosquitoes as the deadliest animals in the world, causing over 700,000 deaths annually. The list of mosquito-borne diseases, includes malaria, dengue fever, Oropouche fever, chikungunya, Zika and yellow fever. Repellents are generally safe for children and pregnant women, but extra care should be taken with babies, andfrequent reapplication is necessary after water exposure or sweating. Indoors, the CDC recommends using screens on doors and windows, as well as air conditioning units to reduce humidity and minimize mosquito activity. For external control, it's crucial to eliminate standing water in containers like vases, tires, and buckets, and to clean them regularly to prevent mosquito breeding. Warning symptoms for diseases such as dengue and malaria include high fever, muscle pain, red spots, nausea, vomiting and bleeding.
