In the next two decades, energy-related CO2 emissions from emerging economies could increase by 5 billion tonnes. But building secure sources of clean energy requires massive investment and right now, the world is falling short. Just 20% of clean energy investment flows to the Global South. These figures need to triple by the early 2030s to keep the planet on track for net zero.
